Old friends Peter and Sue had booked a 2 week stay with a UK travel agent at a Wong Amat hotel.

The day after they arrived, I met them at their hotel for lunch. They wanted to go to the beach in the afternoon.

I'd been nowhere near a beach for years. However, at about 3PM, all spruced up, they asked me to show them the way - which I did.

...After two days they moved to Phuket, but I don't think it would be much different.

13th May. Royal Ploughing Ceremony Day. Civil Service holiday but not a public holiday. Bars open

4th June. Visakha Bucha Day Buddhist special day. Bars mostly closed.
