Due to the rising frequency of hurnan-lion encounters, the Ministry of Fish and Wildlife, lnhambane Branch, Mozambique is advising hikers, hunters, Fishermen and any motorcyclists that use the out-of-doors in a recreational or work-related function to take extra precautions while in the bush.

We advise outdoorsmen to wear little noisy bells in clothing so as to give advanced warning to any lions that might be close by so you don't take them by surprise.

We also advise anyone using the out doors to carry Pepper Spray with him or her in case of an encounter with a lion.

Outdoorsmen should also be on the watch for fresh lion activity, and be able to tell the difference between lion cub droppings and adult lion droppings. Lion cub droppings is smaller and contains lots of berries and fur. Adult lion droppings has bells in it, and smells like pepper.

2nd Date

I had a great evening chatting with Ann a couple of weeks ago and so I thought I would visit again.

But there wasn't anywhere near the spark of the previous visit.

I sought of realised why. When you meet with someone the first time, one can use all of ones database of jokes, observations and repartee.

On the 2nd date, I get the nagging thought that maybe I had used some of the lines before. I'd hate to sound like and old bore and repeat old tales.

Best to speak little and find other things to amuse oneself.

I was having a quiet drink in a gogo planning out my evenings tour. I spotted a girl looking in my direction wondering whether she should approach.

It set me to wondering how much a Thai girl can tell about a farang just by looking. It is hard enough when you're familiar with people around you. But if the culture is a little bit alien than it makes it even harder.

Can girls have guess at guys willingness to spend a few baht? Can they guess if the guy could play rough? Can they guess if they will be treated as a lady or a tramp?

Well the girl in question had a ponder, and decided to wander off to somebody else.

At least I had my answer...No, the girls are totally unable to tell a good guy just by looking.

Thaksin's supporters regrouped under the banner People Power Party and won most seats at the general election. Negotiations ended up in a multi party coalition with a Thaksin friendly prime minister.

Democracy has returned to Thailand (but the military now has stronger powers to keep the country on its toes).
