The latest addition to Pattaya's gogos may be found upstairs at Byblos Club on Soi Diamond.

It is a small bar but it is attractively decorated with stylish lighting. There is comfortable seating and central elevated walkway acting as a stage.

There were 3 or 4 girls dancing and another half dozen available to entertain customers. Some girls were topless and some were wearing a substantial top as if for a cabaret show. The girls didn't really stand out but it always takes time and success for a bar to snag the good lookers.

There is also a show but my visit was too early to catch it.

The drinks prices were very reasonable and there's a happy hour. The service girls were familiar as they were a couple of fun girls previously working at Windmill.

There seems no reason why the bar shouldn't find a niche but there is always the obstacle of the stairs that tends to prove a problem for bars.

There are now 76 bars operating as girl GoGos in Pattaya. Note that the tally hasn't gone up because the recent re-closure of Tiger Club had been missed.

FLB is trying something new with a happy hour from 7:05 till 8:35pm.

FLB is an aircon hostess bar on Walking Street near the revered tree and opposite Tony's Disco.

On Thursday Night, a joint operation took place of Pattaya Police, the Tourist Police and Immigration Police.

The stated purpose of the exercise was to check the entire stretch of Pattaya Beach for prostitutes and others who were involved in activities which contravened the law.

There were only a small number of arrests were made despite more than 150 people who were checked and some were searched.

The Police confirmed that over the high season months regular checks will be made along the beach.

A large new table dancing gogo has been built on the Beach Road end of Walking Street next door to Voodoo.

A first glance revealed that the bar was well packed with people, but the second glance revealed that they were mostly staff. The bar have really gone to town with the number of dancing girls and service staff that they have hired.

There were about 12 girls dancing at any one time. There are 3 rows of tables with 4 dancing positions on each row. (Plenty more space for even more dancers if required).

The dress code was bikini top, short flimsy skirt and knickers. As is often the case on opening, the bar isn't in serious competition with the likes of Peppermint for its girls. But there were several very pretty girls amongst the crowd.

The biggest defining characteristic of the bar is the music. It is very loud and very dance. It surely sets your seat vibrating.

The beer price was set at a sensible 50 Baht and the owners are well established notable for the Blue Sky Bars on Walking Street. It should be interesting to see if loud table dancing will find a niche in Walking Street.

There are now 76 girl gogos operating in Pattaya & Jomtien.

Owner Steve sold up from Lewiinski's on 1st September 2007. The bar was very popular within the golfing community and presumably will continue to be so.

His latest venture is Donovan's at 394 3rd Road. It is a new bar that has been converted from a Deli/Steakhouse.

VIP Club recently went dark at the central Walking Street venue below Polo.

Banners have now been unfurled proclaiming that the venue will become Lollipop A-GoGo.

We are going to have a grand opening party for the BJ's Beach Club on Tuesday 30th October.

The evening will include lots of free food, good fun, and happy hour prices all night long.

Sakura Club 69

The Club 69 gogo just off Walking Street on Soi 15 re-opened on 20th October. At quick glance it seems pretty much as before but with a smaller cast of dancers.

This brings the tally of operating girl gogos to 75

Silver Star

A banner has been unfurled indicating that Silver Star on Soi 8 will reopen on 2nd of November (or 2th November as the banner states)

Pattaya Police Station conducted an operation on Pattaya Beach in the early hours of Saturday Morning to pick-up suspected Prostitutes operating on Pattaya Beach.

These regular operations are taking place following complaints from Tour Operators who complain about incidents which take place on Pattaya Beach relating to these illegal beach workers.

On this night a total of 48 women were arrested and taken to the Stationhouse for processing and each woman paid a small fine before their release. Predictably the women made their way back to the beach in an effort to recoup the money they had just paid out for the fine.

VIP Club has gone dark.

The bar, which has recently backed off from GoGo dancing in favour of coyote dancing, is located just below Polo Entertainment in central Walking Street.

It has been reported that the bar is being renovated but it was already one of the most attractively styled bars of Walking Street. Perhaps they have a more fundamental change in mind.

The Beach Club is owned by the same individual that owns BJ3, Lucky Star, and a host of other bars and GoGo's. It will be managed by Mike.

The Beach Club will be an open air bar with friendly staff, very friendly prices and good music played at a reasonable volume.

The theme of the bar is unique and we hope to become the home of those looking for something just a little different than the normal beer bar.

Daily drink specials, free wireless internet, and pool tables, will round out the fun at the Beach Club.

The bar will be located just up Thappraya Road a few metres away from the beach and is scheduled to open within the next couple of weeks or so.

Around Town

The opening date for Sakura Club 69 has slipped a day until Saturday 20th October.

19th October was also advertised as the opening date for Insomnia Gentleman's Club but the place still looks like a building site. The venue in Soi Diamond used to be Super Model A-GoGo but will now be a coyote dancing bar.

Mandarin Club on Soi 6 has been sold and all but half a dozen of the girls will continue to work for the new owner.

The Hot Tuna Pool Club has re-opened on Walking Street opposite Tony's. The Hot Tuna Wine Bar looked suspiciously dark though.

The Oliver Twist Old English Pub has re-branded itself as Bennigans. The restaurant located on Pattaya Klang opposite Tops supermarket now defines itself as Irish American Indian.

The previous incarnation was not well received in Pattaya but perhaps the new brand should at least better explain the wafts of Indian cooking from the Ali Baba's restaurant located directly above.

Other news mentioned on the forums reckons that the famed Bangkok bar, Gulliver's is coming to Walking Street. There is already a branch in North Pattaya, but it is nestled amongst the expensively themed restaurant area around the Dusit that cries out "real Pattaya people don't come here"

As high season edges closer then so Happy Hour prices will edge up at New Living Dolls 1 on Walking Street.

From 8 until 10 draft beer and house spirits are now 39 Baht (up from 30 Baht).

Perhaps it will now be possible to get a seat in the bar.
