Roxy is located on south Walking Street almost next door to Insomnia disco.

My recent visits at ever declining frequency have not really been very successful. There's nothing whatsoever that's strikingly obvious as to why, its just a bunch of little things that add up.

There's usually a sprinkling of good looking girls on hand but they are a little bit choosy as who they approach, if anyone at all.

The high seating to the left of the bar as you walk in is a little too far from the action, and the moment you sit down you know that you will be ignored.

Best to sit on the right where you are closer to the stage and the main foot traffic that passes by.

It's one of those bars that would be so much better if the girls were just a little bit more interactive.

Shark Club has stairs up from Soi 15 and Soi Diamond. It also has a walkway connection with sister bar Tiger.

I have stopped by a couple of times and never really had much luck in the bar. The bar is perfectly decent with its central stage being well populated with dancers of which several are well attractive enough.

Perhaps there are too many girls on the stage and not enough on hostess duty. There  always seems to be a smattering of customers many of which look a bit lonely. Several of the girls were being friendly sitting with customers but just not enough. The basic dancing show is not quite exciting enough just to sit and watch, and and the girls aren't quite top notch enough to stun guys into passive watching mode.

The bar seems to have traded up from its previous incarnation that had lots of rough edges but also a lot of character. Now it is a lot more professional and slick, but it seems to exist as a rather unexciting clone of several other bars following the same theme. The upstairs location is probably enough to ensure that Shark stays second fiddle to similar downstairs bars.

Perhaps upstairs bars would be better advised to target a niche rather than become a clone.

Maybe a bit overly critical as the bar is quite fine. It's just that I rather miss the old Shark Club which was one of my favourites.

Club Nevada is located at the Beach Road end of Soi 13/2 (Soi Post Office).

The bar seems to be at a pretty low ebb in terms of the number of girls and the number of customers. But otherwise it doesn't change much.

It is a friendly and well run place that is always perfectly good for a beer break. There never seems much reason to stay very long though.

The bar typically has either 3 or 4 girls dancing and a similar amount awaiting their turn. The dress code is bikini down to none. The dancing cast is generally a little below average but there are usually a couple of dancers that can catch the eye.

The draft beer is cheap and served in a good sized glass.

The Lighthouse A-GoGo is a new bar on Walking Street and is a nearish neighbour to Casnovy.

The connections of this bar must be well happy. It was pretty near full and yet there were hardly any girls. There must have been about 4 guys for every girl.

The bar is quite small with a narrow central stage nestling between two sides of bench seating. There are also a few stage stools down one side.

There were 5 girls dancing and just 3 hostessing whilst waiting to dance. There were a couple of very attractive girls amongst them and the whole crew would qualify for a fair few barfines each month. Most girls were topless and the rest were wearing bikinis. Thankfully no coyotes.

But it was amazing that there was a steady stream of customers coming in to jammed into the few available bench seats by the bar ushers. To be fair though there was an equally rapid stream of customers departing after one drink.

I assume the bar has somehow tapped into the market of the multitude of passers by who are not really into gogos, but would like a quick look see.

The drinks prices are similar to sister bars Tiger/Shark/Fahrenheit but the draft beer is 10 Baht more expensive at 80 Baht (70 Baht in happy hour).

The Drum and Monkey is located on Naklua Road a bit north of Dolphin Island.

I'm in the oil game, 4 on, 4 off, guess where I spend my 4 off? What can I say, UK is pants, full stop.

At the start of my little trips to Pattaya, I usual stay 3 day in soi 7/8. Anyway the soi 7/8 debauchery that follows usually gets my hormone build up out the way, I can then settle down to the quiet life in Naklua. Armchair, flat cap and pipe, NOT...

The Drum and Monkey is my drinking hole of choice. Niall has taken over the bar for a couple of years now, and all I can say what a great job he's done. He's got the balance just right on both sides of the bar...

Ohh he also has fine Harem of lovely ladies, who will always welcome you with a friendly smile. If you've come for a bit of female Thai company, you could do worse...

I try not to fiddle about with the ladies from this bar, as I don't like to be seen as a complete wretch, mixing business with pleasure and all that stuff. But to be honest, the wall has been known to crumble occasionally...

I like to use the Monkey Bar for a good bevy, the beer is as cheap as you will get anywhere. There is the Irish bar next door, Ryan's bar, which I may add is excellent, the same as Eor's, I am always made to feel very welcome in both establishments.

But I'm like a homing pigeon, always return to the Monkey bar The Drum and monkey do a fine breakfast at a very agreeable price, the full monty has always been too much for me, as I am a usually a bitty delicate in the mornings, well that's rubbish, early afternoons.

Has Niall filled Badgers boots? yip I think so...... Niall's turned out to be a good friend, he always organizes a little away days over to the darkside which is always good for beaver spotting, this usually entails a 1 PM start. Visiting 4 or 5 establishments, including the Black peril, and my personal Favorite, the Pussy Cat Club. Finishing of back at the Monkey bar, a bitty worse for wear.

Did Badger return, yip seen him a couple of trips ago.... He's doing just fine.....

Utopia is the most southerly GoGo in Walking Street located at the corner of Soho Square.

I visited at prime time and the bar seemed to be doing OK.

There were half a dozen girls dancing on the stage in a wide range of dress from coyote down to very little. There were a couple of very attractive dancers and they were making quite an effort on the dancing front.

The layout of the bar looks a bit of challenge. The U shaped bar gives no central place for the dancers. They use just one leg of the 'u' and it does not have enough comfortable seating. So mostly they are expecting customers to use stools.

There were a fair few customers but there seemed to be a pretty rapid turnover. Perhaps not enough girls to keep more than a handful of customers amused by on the hostessing front.

The girls were being friendly enough though, and they were approaching customers.

The bar seems a pleasant place for a drink, but is not quite convincing enough to stay for two.

Well what can I say, I've tried all the go go bars in Soi 7/8 but always go back to this little haven...

The music is quite good, but who give a monkey's about music when its well stocked full of eye candy, I have found the staff to be helpful and courteous.

Well I usually stay in the hotel opposite for a couple of night at the start of my stay, Eastiny Palace, you have to pay a fine to take your little Thai darling back, but its a good clean hotel. Its my personnel choice...

Anyway where was I.... Yes I've used this establishment for 3 or 4 years and is usually great, I've taken many a little flower out of this place back to my honeymoon suite opposite.

To be honest I don't notice the prices, maybe am a champagne Charlie, like I give a dam. I've taken many of my friends to his place and never heard of anybody complain of the prices.

The trick with this place is to splash a little cash at first, you know the old Thai motto, no money, no honey . Then when you have you little Thai darling of you choice, you ask to take her up stairs to the pool bar up stairs. I like this spot because its nice and quiet and you can get a good oggle at the birds before they slide down the fireman's pole and start their shift...

Ohh, small word of warning, on my last trip to this establishment, my friend, Kenny Wenny, nearly fell down the fireman's pole whilst throwing ping pong balls to the ladies down stairs.

The last time I was in I was already with my Thai girlfriend of 6 years, she bats both ways, so she made her choice and the 3 of us went back to the honeymoon suite and we spent the rest of the night looking at my vast stamp collection. The next morning we spent that brass rubbing..... It was nice to watch our little friend doing a Bambi out the door, I think the brass rubbing wore her out.

Sexy Girls A-GoGo is located at the 2nd Road end of Soi 8.

Sailor Bar is located towards the Beach Road end of Soi 8.

I'm in the oil game, 4 on, 4 off, guess where I spend my 4 off ?

I've been using the Sailor Bar Soi 8, must be coming on 4 years. Its got to be one of the cheapest bars in Pattaya. There is a little restaurant at the back I use it a lot, especially if I am entertaining a little Thai number.

There are some girls that are very nice, I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I usually drink in here as my first stop of the night, great meet place, its handy for Soi 7/8 and Walking Street.

The beer is cheap, but I'm a big fan of the cocktails, the Mia Tia is well recommended.

The Mamasam is a big bird that never smiles, the same as a lot of the staff.

But on the plus side, if you want cheap drink, and cheap acceptable food, this is the place to be.

Oh big word of warning, go easy on the Mai Tai, 2 max or you will be having an early bed and waking up the next morning saying, WHAT HAPPENED DARLING... So you've been warned...

Babydolls A-GoGo is located on Soi 15 opposite What's Up.

The bar is still going strong with its ever successful formula of being hands on and friendly.

The only time the bar disappoints is when it is full, which is quite often in high season. Detracting nothing from the bar, it is one of the worst places to be when it is busy and you haven't got a girl on your lap. After all, who wants to sit in a bar watching everyone else have great fun.

But when you have got a girl on your lap then it is surely a great place to be.

The bar features about 8 girls on a central stage in various stages of undress. There are also 2 naughty show points with 2 girls at each. Although these are almost legendary in naughtiness, they are not the most popular seats in the bar. Perhaps too much of a continuous expectation of tips.

The bar is quite similar to the somewhat smaller Windmill Club, but has one advantage over the competition. When there are sufficient girls, Babydolls splits them into 3 teams of dancers that swap every 4 songs or so. So the girls can spend 2/3rds of their time on their customers laps. When there are less girls then they are split into 2 teams (as per Windmill) and they stay on your lap half of the time. The short dancers rosters of just 4 songs is well appreciated.

Drinks prices are very reasonable and the service is good (unless the waitresses have been cornered on someone's lap for a while).

Club Oasis is located on Soi Buakhao on the corner or Soi Chayaphun

Club Oasis is now more or less back up to speed. The very poor period for ladies and the debacle with VAT added to bills is now a distant memory.

I visited during mid evening in peak season and the bar was about full. There were two teams of dancers swapping every 5 or 6 songs. The stage was busy with about 10 dancers. There were plenty of attractive girls amongst them, but the overall ranking perhaps about average. The dress code was generally topless and dancing was reasonably spirited with plenty of smiles.

However the bar does have a rather limited niche. The amount of customers was several times more than the amount of girls. This bar is therefore mostly for that like to watch and soak up the atmosphere rather than expect the company of a dancer. Plenty of the dancers were circulating amongst the audience but they were spread pretty thinly.

I have stopped by several times in lower season and there is more chance for customers who want to hook up with girls to partake, but even then the odds were not on the customers side.

This bars seems to capture the specialised character popular in the Soi Buakhao area. Well run bars with decent drinks prices that pack in the customers, but with many more guys than gals.

Windmill is located at the centre of Soi Diamond

Whenever I have popped by Windmill over the last couple of months it has been pretty well packed out. There was a time earlier in the year when things weren't looking quite up to scratch, but then the managerial boot was forcibly applied and now the bar is back to peak popularity.

There seem to be three routes to being a popular GoGo in Pattaya. The first is to employ the prettiest girls in Pattaya. Never fails to attract hoards of customers. Another route is to provide a good quality, professionally produced, sexy show. The third is to get hands on girls to jump onto customers' laps. And Windmill is one of the best examples of the third way.

The bar has dancers on a central stage, a few on tables in front of the audience, and there are also 3 naughty show areas. This is where bananas and other props play an integral part in the sexy shows that abound there.

The Windmill girls are very proactive in seeking out partners for an intimate chat featuring plenty of body language. And this goes down very well with customers indeed. And for services beyond the call of duty, lady drinks and tips are most definitely required.

Seeing so many customers, and so many lady drinks, makes me wonder why a few more bars don't follow suit. There's only one and a half others that partake in the same idea, Baby Dolls + a show table in X-Zone. Probably it is down to being difficult to get the obliging girls necessary for the concept to work.

And work it does.  I am just waiting for high season to dampen down a bit. Perhaps then I can find a space to squeeze into, and hence to enjoy the happy benches of Windmill.

New Star is located on Soi Diamond

The small bar has a few old stagers that have been hanging around for ages. But otherwise the bar has a rapid turnover amongst the younger dancers.

So every time I go there is more a less a new dancing cast on display. The bar is pretty good for dancing with short dance rosters and often more attractive dancers than you would expect in a small bar.

In terms of interaction it is very hit or miss. It just depends on the current crops of girls whether they are interested in socialising or not.

It is one of those bars where the cheap draft is important, as it makes it worthwhile for just a look see. If the dancing team is a bit offish then nothing lost, but if it is a good day it can be fun to stay for a few.

A totally inconsistent bar, but the odds of a good time are good enough to make it worthwhile to at least take a look.

Naughty Girls is located on Soi Diamond

This GoGo must be the most low key in walking Street. It hardly ever gets a mention on the forums.

It's certainly not a high energy bar, nor is it hand's on, it hasn't got the prettiest girls in town, nor has it a show, there's no sign of a Jacuzzi, no play area, and there's certainly nothing to complain about with the drink's prices. In short there's little to say about the bar.

It has a traditional centre stage, with girls in traditional gogo attire, doing the traditional Isaan shuffle.

At least there's usually a few decent looking girls in attendance.

Not bad, not good, not naughty, just misunderstood.

Paradise A-GoGo opened just in time for New Year's Eve on Soi Buakhao. It is from the same gogo group as Kiss opposite.

I stopped by quite early during the week after New Year.

The first, middle and last impression is of the very high centre stage. I haven't see one that high since Babe Watch, long since closed in the Covent Garden Complex. I cannot see the point of elevating the girls into the ceiling shadows. Surely closest is best in a GoGo bar.

Anyway there is a double bank of tiered bench seating as the main viewing area. The lower tier has an even more neck craning angle than the high tier.

It is clearly early days for the bar and the dancer count was just 6.  A couple were attractive enough though. 3 were dancing at any one time. The basic dress code was gogo skirt and bikini top, but one girl has a string affair that nearly counts as nude.

There was a cheap draft at 55 Baht and the service girls were friendly.

Clearly too soon to judge...but really that high stage...

Kiss A-GoGo is located on Soi LK Metro

Kiss has become my favourite GoGo within the LK Metro area. The area is clearly popular, but some of the most acclaimed bars, particularly Champagne and The Office are too popular, and there simply aren't enough girls to go round. Others bars in the area suffer from having too many coyote dancers with likely offish attitudes.

So Kiss stands out for possible the wrong reasons of not being overly popular, but the right reasons of having friendly and accommodating girls.

I guess one of the reasons for the lack of popularity is that table dancing does not make for a good auditorium show. The viewing angles are uncomfortable and the girls faces are lost in the shadows. So the bar has to counter this with a more interactive and personal service to keep the customers entertained.

This characteristic has the rather restraining consequence that the prettiest dancers tend to move rapidly on to the bars where they can get away with just dancing. So whilst such bars generally have a lower standard of dancer, there are usually a few that are still attractive, and so it is with Kiss.

The beer prices are very reasonable and it a pleasant place for a drink and a chat.

World Wide A-GoGo is located on Beach Road between Soi 7 and Soi 8.

World Wide is a featureless GoGo that seems to offer little, but keeps hanging in there.

On my latest visit there was a batch of 8 below average bikini clad dancers. However these were followed in slow procession by a reasonably attractive batch of topless dancers. I think the bar operates in waves so that the door staff can be on higher alert when the topless girls are on.

The only customer interaction is reserved for newbies, and then their interactive treatment is to get mobbed by a couple of dancers and a couple of service girls for good measure.

But really I have no expectations of either a visual treat nor a friendly reception so enjoying a relaxing bottle of 70 Baht bottled beer isn't really too bad. Maybe it helps keep the bar ticking over. But it may be another year before I bother dropping by again.

Tim Bar is located on 2nd Road opposite Soi 12

The bar has had a bit of a makeover since I last stopped by. The flooring has been redone, there is now decent bench seating and the toilets are the best in town.

It looks pretty good but really not so different to before. The bar missed a trick with the bench seating though, it is not located where the stage is. Bench seating is so important when it comes to a taking a few beers. As far as I am concerned stools are one drink and go sort of seats.

The bar was well filled with girls and there was a fair sprinkling of customers.

There were 4 dancers on stage and it was not an impressive show. The dancing was boring, and overdressed. It was lucky that one girl was wearing a bikini top or else I would have classed it as a coyote bar. The bar seems to have a fair amount of traditionally attired coyotes. Then there are the pretend gogo dancers who wear bikinis, but only over the top of solid bras. Then there are just a few real gogo dancers in bikinis. There's nothing less. There were a few decent looking dancers awaiting their turn but it was all too draggy to want to make an effort to stay and see.

There was a reasonable draft beer at 65 Baht and there are loads of service girls to make sure of prompt attention. There was a girl circulating the audience with ping pong balls but she was not pushy.

I guess most regulars go for the rock videos, and maybe a game of pool, rather than the dancers. Not a bar I'll rush back to until I hear that the girls have shed a few clothes. I rather fear I may be gone some time.

Hot & Cold has moved more or less next door, into a venue that was once a restaurant. I am not exactly sure what the purposes of the move was but it certainly wasn't to transform into a brand spanking new state of the art venue. In fact connoisseurs  of the seedy dilapidation will be pleased to know that the new venue is little better than the old. And where the new bar may score a few points for a new stage and Jacuzzi, the bar loses a bucketful of points for poor design.

First of all the new bar is upstairs, not the most welcoming feature for a bar. Potential first timers can be a bit dubious about upstairs venues. And just to add atmosphere the Hot & Cold bar designers have specially imported the dirt and grime from the previous bar to decorate the stairway. Surely they could have spent a little cash on a mop and detergent.

Upstairs the bar is quite large with a reasonably attractive central stage and a large Jacuzzi installation. Maybe the bar ran out of cash after these two features as half the bar seems unfinished and undecorated.

There are comfortable seats around the edges of the bar but most of these are badly placed and too far away from the stage. And in fact if there was a sudden surge of interest in the bar then there wouldn't be enough seats to cope.

I was a bit gobsmacked at the design and atmosphere of the new place. Even my pretty drinking partner dancing on my lap commented that I looked a bit unhappy. I was wondering if the bar had much of a future. I've had some great times there and would hate to see it fade away.

ToyZ A-GoGo opened in mid December on Soi 15. It is now at the venue that was previously Climax A-GoGo and before that Sakura Club 69.

ToyZ is easily the best of the recent GoGo openings. The bar has near instantly established a lively and fun filled atmosphere with not an agency coyote girl in sight.

The mamasang is from the original ToyZ in Covent Garden, and reportedly has rounded up a fair few girls from the old bar.

There was plenty of interaction between the girls and the customers and many of the girls seemed quite hands on friendly.

The bar itself is pretty much the same layout as it has been for a long time with the square centre stage surrounded by 3 walls of bench seating.

The Jacuzzi has been shifted out from its previously badly tucked away location but it still has a limited viewing arc. Perhaps it will be hands on friendly and command its own little audience of waterside devotees.

The centre stage was filled with dancers in all stages of undress, and definitely no coyotes. They were all putting a reasonable effort into their dancing.

The drinks are reasonably priced too.

In fact the only downside is the on-going ToyZ policy of long dance rosters. The current system is for a 9 song stint. Way too long! As soon I spotted that my drinking partner would be away for so long, my mind started to drift towards the delights of Babydolls next door.

Actually there were always many good things about the old ToyZ, but when the bar wasn't buzzing, and the dancers weren't quite so enthusiastic, then the long dance rosters made the bar boring. I hope they don't make the same mistake here. They have to bear in mind that Babydolls is right next door and they have an excellently brief 4 song dance sequence.

But for the moment ToyZ is lively and fun and so this is not really so much of an issue.

Moon Club is located at the corner of Walking Street and Soi Diamond.

I stopped by at prime time during the week before Christmas. The welcome girl sounded a little desperate calling out the line: draft beer only 65 baht.

Anyway I stepped inside expecting to be swooped upon by hoards of tequila hunting agency models, but something was strangely awry...there weren't any.

There were about four customers totally unhassled by anyone. There was a perfectly friendly service girl who wanted immediate payment for my drink, but pointed out that I could have a bin if I wanted.

On stage were a handful of unimpressive GoGo dancers in complicated bikinis that were almost one piece costumes, and weren't really very sexy at all.

After a few songs, there was a change of entertainment when a couple of cabaret style showgirls took to the stage. But as they didn't quite tick enough boxes of being young, pretty and female I took my leave.

So there you have it, a trip to the moon without being hassled in any way whatsoever; and experiencing only a brief interaction with a pleasant service girl; and enjoying a decent cheap beer. Better than I ever thought possible. But I suspect that this is not the way it should be, and something is up at Moon Club.

As mentioned earlier, Club Relaxxx has re-opened in Covent Garden on Soi 16.

Unfortunately they seemed to have hot upon the value policy of less for more. On one there is no cheap draft, and on the other the bar seems to be coyote only.

Meanwhile the small Eazy Room which has opened on Soi 15 (previously Fun Room) is offering draft beer at 49 Baht. And hopefully a few less clothes than at Relaxxx.

Barda Bing A-gogo is located on Soi BJ, 10 paces off Walking Street in the venue that previously TQ2.

I popped by at 11ish on a weekday evening. The bar had a decent amount of customers but was not very full.

The bar is a nice size with the now mandatory central stage surrounded by comfortable bench seating around the sides of a square bar. There are stools around the stage but there weren't any takers. It seems a sensible layout without being quite as glitzy as other recent newcomers.

On stage were about 10 coyote dancers doing the usual gogo shuffle. One of them was particularly attractive and the rest were about par for the course (which is actually pretty good). There was yet another team of coyote dancers sitting chatting amongst themselves whilst waiting for their turn to dance.

There did not seem to be much life to the bar in terms of customer interaction, but a couple of bikini dancers were sitting with customers.

Shortly a couple of younger guys came in and it wasn't long before they had 3 good looking coyotes by their side. It is often the way with coyotes, they tend to be a bit choosier than most.

Actually things got a little more interesting on stage at the change of shift. The next team of half a dozen less inhibited dancers shed most of their clothes. Previous reports had suggested that the majority of dancers were nudity averse, so I assume that the girls on the stage were the showgirls. The numbers on stage were still made up with a couple of coyotes though.

The drinks prices are well reasonable with a 55 Baht draft beer and 115 Baht lady drinks.

Overall the bar seems to have made a solid start and is worth a visit. I'm not sure what the long term intentions are in terms of having so many coyotes, hopefully just a start up strategy. I suspect that if they hang round for too long, the customers won't. I will certainly be back for another look though.

Clinic A-gogo is located on Soi 7 near the Beach Road end.

I visited at about 10pm on a weekday evening and the bar seemed to be ticking over quite nicely.

There was a fair sprinkling of customers, maybe about a third full and there were half a dozen dancers with another girl soaping herself in the Jacuzzi.

The dancers were quite a mixed bunch in terms of both, attractiveness, and clothes sense. Several were wearing way too much, equally others were wearing none at all. There were always a couple of dancers on stage that would turn most heads.

The customers seemed happy enough to watch quite a lively dancing show, but there wasn't much interaction between the girls and the customers.

But on the whole it shows that a few attractive girls are enough to keep a bar ticking over nicely.

Happy A-gogo is located just at the end of an alley of bars off central Walking Street.

I visited at midnight, on a weekday, a couple of weeks before Christmas.

And it was pretty much the same successful looking GoGo that it has always been.

The stage was pretty well packed with dancers, most of them being topless. Surely an above average crew, but not quite the top notch. That accolade is reserved for Baccara these days.

There were a couple of coyote dancers on the centre stage and disappointingly the small corner stage, once knickerless, is now well overdressed. At some point in the last couple of years it has been hijacked by coyotes.

The crowd was a mixture of guys gawping at the girls, a few sitting with girls, and there were even a few farang couples converting a corner of the bar into an impromptu disco.

Perhaps not quite the packed audiences of old, but that's fine by me. In fact the bar was probably about 2/3rds full.

As always, the male service is spot on in terms of efficiency, but way off mark in terms of an opportunity for a chat.

All seems well at Happy.

ToyZ A-GoGo has now re-opened at its new Soi 15 venue on 16th December 2011. This venue was previously Climax A-GoGo.

The bar looks pretty much like it did as Climax but there is now a 2 girl Jacuzzi feature.

There were 30 dancers in the bar. Of these 9 dancers were on the stage at a time. Some were bottomless (Bar Fine: 800B) and others were topless (Bar Fine : 600B).  Thankfully there were no coyotes.

Happy Hour is from 8pm till 9:30pm with 65 Baht drinks.

ToyZ started life as Catz in November 2005 in the Covent Garden Complex on Soi 16. Catz renamed to ToyZ in January 2010 but closed in the summer of 2011.

The Pattaya area GoGo count is now at 75 bars that have girls dancing in bikinis or less. With more to open shortly.

Sweethearts A-gogo is located in central Walking Street.

I popped in for my very occasional beer and everything is about the same as usual. Except that the drinks prices have edged up. They are still within the very reasonable range, but are now more psychologically expensive than major bars with prettier girls and less clothes.

The friendly greeter made his welcome, leaving me to scan the bar. There were plenty of girls with 6 dancing at any one time. They were doing an excellently short dancing roster of just 3 songs. That would be great for customers awaiting their drinking partner to return from her dance shift.

But actually there weren't any customers that I could see sitting with girls. Most seemed to have been attracted in by the open door policy. Other bars just don't seem quite so welcoming to tourists with just a passing interest in GoGos. This rather left groups of customers, several of them ladies,  chatting amongst themselves rather than being interested in the girls.

The bar still is designed around table dancing which is not a comfortable viewing position, too much neck craning and the likes. Also there's no fun if the girls are all respectably clad in full bikinis.

So as usual, I left everybody in the bar enjoying doing their own thing and moved on. A traditional and perfectly pleasant, but unexciting, one beer visit.

Not quite a new bar, but has just recently changed format to a coyote dancing bar organised very much like a GoGo.

It is located just a few paces of Paratamanak Road a few metres from the corner of Soi 4. It is in a square with a large Harley shop. The bar has no welcome staff, nor open sign, but if the neon sign is on and it is between 6pm and 2am then it is open.

It is a small single unit bar with a central stage. Either side of the stage are 3 sofas to seat 3. This probably means that the comfortable maximum is 12 customers. There are a few stools at the bar at the back though.

There were 12 girls on duty of which 3 were dancing at a time. Not a bad ratio for the size of the bar. The girls were a surprising attractive crew for an off beat location. The girls were all dressed in coyote attire of shorts, top and bra. There was a theme which I think was probably meant to be naval.

I am not usually a fan of coyote dancing bars but I found this more like a GoGo bar where the girls were wearing a little too much. These were not agency girls, nor girls likely to be sponsored, or not interested in barfines etc. they were regular girls making a good effort for lady drinks and barfines.

The mamasang was friendly and helpful. In fact I found the bar to be well run and a very pleasant place for a drink and a chat with the friendly girls.

And just as the night was drawing to a close the girls were getting a little merry and a couple dressed down from coyote to GoGo.

Bottled beer was 70 Baht, lady drinks 120 Baht, early barfines 700, and late barfines 500.

Bada Bing A-GoGo has opened on Soi BJ, just a few paces off central Walking Street. It is at the location that was previously TQ2. The bar opened on 9th December.

The dancers were divided into 3 teams. Each team having 8-10 dancers.  The 1st team was made up of 8 bikini gogo dancers, and 2 of them were topless. The 2nd and 3rd teams were disappointingly all coyote, presumably agency dancers used until the bar can attract some less shy dancers of its own.

The bar will also feature shows.

So there are now 75 bars around Pattaya featuring girls in bikinis or less. With several more opening very soon.

Spank'ys has just opened in the centre of Soi Diamond, between the closed Gentlemen's Club and Diamond A-GoGo.

The bar has had a pretty low key opening with most early visitors reporting very few girls working in the bar.

On my visit there were 6 dancers on stage on 2 waiting in the wings. They were an attractive crew and were putting a fair amount of effort into their dancing. The girls were nicely dressed in mostly not very much. Thankfully no sign of coyotes here.

The small team of girls made for a pretty impossible situation. By my observation they were dancing 75% of their time and if you offered a lady drink, the girl would be back on stage barely before she had time to drink it.

The bar is pretty small, with the now almost mandatory central stage surround by a couple of tiers of comfortable bench seating. There's a Jacuzzi feature but it wasn't being used on my visit. And as a bit of nod to Angelwitch, the bar has an upper gallery from which the girls can slide down poles to the stage.

However there was no sign of a show. Maybe this is something for the future for when the bar gains momentum. After all the Bangkok branch is known for shows. I suspect the bar may prove a little small though to become a show venue. Maybe the small size will mean not enough customers to share the overheads of a show.

The staff were friendly and the mamasang was particularly personable.

I don't think I'll be rushing back though. Especially with a coke being a very expensive 130 Baht. I was a bit gob smacked being asked to pay such a premium price when the bar was operating at such a minimal level. I think they need an opening promotion to keep the drinks prices down until such a times as there is a premium product to justify them.

Its always tricky for bars to start up, it it very tough to get girls until the bar is up and running for the girls to see a good prospective employment. But for the moment the bar offers very poor value indeed, at least for coke drinkers.

Casnovy A-GoGo is located towards the Beach Road end of Walking Street.

Casnovy has occasionally flattered and has been up there with the most popular bars on Walking Street. It seems to have dropped off the radar a bit in recent times, but it is still a loud and lively venue that may better suit partying visitors, rather than seasoned expats.

My last visit was pretty much as normal, with a fair amount of attractive dancers amongst the three rows of dancers. Two of which are made up of table dancing positions and the middle row is the centre stage where the girls seem a little less inhibited about clothes.

The dancers are a pretty mixed bunch in terms of being friendly, some were hiding away just awaiting their white knight, whilst others were playing the crowds.

I was looked after by a very friendly service girl on my last visit. She was playing some strange game of keeping one foot on the floor and never quite sitting down. Something to do with house rules that service girls aren't allowed to sit with customers. She did a good job of sitting with this customer, even though it wasn't quite legally sitting.

On the whole the bar made for a decent visit. But I think it is rather waiting for the high season crowds  so as to realise the true spirit of the bar.
